He Wants to Hold a Pencil

Listen to the stories of the homeless and learn. Come here to learn, not to teach.

When Juan Amiel was born with Apert syndrome, doctors in Mexico told his family he would never walk, hear, or speak. Today, at four years old, he runs, talks, laughs, and will soon begin pre-school..

Because his fingers are fused together, Juan cannot hold a pencil, crayons, or classroom tools. A specialized hand surgery could give him the ability to write, draw, and fully participate in school.

Your gift can help this bright little boy walk into his classroom with open hands, ready to learn.
